Biography

Dr. Azin Alizadehasl was born in 1975 in Iran. In high school, she earned the silver medal at the World Olympiad of Chemistry in Italy in February 1992. After successfully completing the university entrance exam in Iran, she enrolled at Tabriz University of Medical Science, completing seven years of study to become a general physician. Upon passing the residency exam, she entered cardiology residency. Four years later, she achieved board certification, ranking among the top 10% in Iran in 2006. For five years, she served as a Medical faculty member at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. In 2011, driven by her interests, she initiated the Echocardiography fellowship program at Rajaei Cardiovascular, Medical, and Research Center. Upon becoming an echocardiologist, she joined the medical faculty of Rajaei hospital, and during her tenure, she pursued further studies at Methodist hospital, Houston, USA.

Upon returning to Iran, she identified the lack of Cardio-oncology in the country and decided to start the cardio-oncology courses at Toronto General Hospital in 2018-2019. A year later, she returned to Iran and founded the first cardio-oncology ward at Rajaei Heart Center, marking it as the inaugural cardiac center in Iran. She assumed the role of Head of the Cardio-Oncology Department & Research Center. Throughout her career, she has garnered notable distinctions, including Fellowship of the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE) and Fellowship of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). She actively contributes as a member of the ASE Guidelines and Standards Committee.

 

She has authored over 380 articles and book chapters, collaborating on the writing of more than 15 international books.
